A Helping Hand: Food Bank of the Rockies

“The happiest people I have known have been those who gave themselves no concern about their own souls, but did their uttermost to mitigate the miseries of others.”
Elizabeth Cady Stanton

I was invited to photograph an event called Food Bank of the Rockies, put together by beautiful Tiffany Gentry. She loves to sing and she has musician friends who are as passionate as Tiffany in helping others. What united them this exact day at the Walnut Room was love to help the less fortunate. Every dollar raised would provide four meals for those in need. The event managed to raise $900 and you can figure how many people this small group of passionate musicians fed. The crowed was amazing and everyone had such a blast.

Give it up to Tiffany Gentry, Ersan Saribal, Adam Gosselin, Brandon Craig and others.  Great job guys!

Love Shoot: Ashley and James

“The story of my life…together with you”

We collaborated with Ashley and James to create a unique story that would narrate to their personality and their sense of style. Between their passion for each other, love for camping, and tenderness towards cupcakes came to live a love scene; incorporating their joyous lifestyle and inner beauty. Colorado Fall foliage is always an amazing view and we couldn’t find a better time to photograph this beautiful couple. James built the tent himself, Ashley picked out the elements for the shoot and it all came together beautifully… Not to mention a beautiful dove which floated around Ashley and James until the end of the shoot.

I love when pictures tell a story. Can you tell their story by looking at these photographs?

Backstage: My A-Team.

As many of you know by now that along side running a business, this busy momma runs a household, too. At times it is hard to balance both, since both sides demand equal or more energy and attention. But Nasim and I have a little life motto, which states that family comes first.

I decided to mix things up a bit and bring some of my personal life into my blog, thus, enlighten my dear audience of backstage at Lola Elise.

A-Team Taekwondo is one thing that we share as a family. That’s our take on spending some quality time  together and a small step towards being a good example to our children; healthy life style and all.

Little commercial break:

If you are looking into doing Taekwondo with your family and you live around Denver, this is the best school to go. No offense to other schools, but having a black belt in the family helped us to choose the right school for all the right purposes.

Omar is four and Ozzy is three years old. My kiddos tested for yellow belt couple of months ago (finally!). It took them over 8 months to get there!  But those are the requirements of their dad and the school Master. If you are not mastering the tasks, there aint no higher belts for you, baby! So I am thankful they got this far without quitting! No quitters in this family (keeping my fingers crossed)!

Here are some snapshots from their testing.
