We had a lot of fun shooting Erica’s and Brett’s wedding in Manitou Springs. I’m currently going through all of the images and picking my favorites, so I will certainly have a lot to show you. Stay tuned!
He came to help her move to her new apartment and stayed in her life from that moment on. He promised her to be a great husband and an amazing father to Lacey’s 7 year old daughter Kyliegh. With no doubt, it is a match made in Heaven. We are honored to be their photographers for their favorite day!
Recently we had a chance to shoot a fabulous engagement session at their apartment where they met and decided to get married! It was one of the most fab photo sessions I had in a long time. Cannot wait to see what the wedding day holds for us!!!
It is always nice to attend events organized by professionals in the wedding industry. ISES is an organization that unites some of the best professionals. You can imagine what happens when the best of the event planning world get together. I decided to take my camera along for a ride to make sure I snap some images of the IRON ISES event. I also wanted to take the new Nikkor 24mm f/1.4G for a ride. Should I spare the “I loved it” part for later? 🙂
So, the IRON ISES event was organized as a competition base for vendors. Teams were formed and competition started. It wasn’t just a “show me your portfolio” kind of competition. It was more about “here is what we have, build something out of it” type of competition. Boy, was I glad that I was the photographer 😀
There were three competitor tables and all of them did very well. I am not a designer per Se. But my eyes (and my lens) had so much fun looking at the designs. Here are some of the images:
I love the shallow depth of field the new Nikon 24mm f/1.4G gives you. The bokeh is just so delicious, it makes the pear twice more appetizing! This is one of my favorite images of the day.
Dan and Andrea owe their meeting to one person, Corrie Quinn Dreher. Corrie is Andrea’s oldest friend (since she was 4!), and before moving to Alaska, was a social worker in Denver, sharing an office with Dan. After realizing that both Dan and Andrea would not stop talking about their obsession with the semi-obscure band Swell Season, among other mutual interests, she decided to remotely introduce them. They emailed a couple of times and met in person a couple of months later during one of Andrea’s visits to see Corrie in Denver in early 2008. Needless to say, they hit it off. The first date of Cajun breakfast, Red Rocks and a brewery tour, was followed by a few months of long distance. Neither of them being a fan of long distance, Andrea moved to Denver in September 2008 and as they say, the rest is history. On March 21st, Andrea walked down the aisle to a Swell Season song, which they thought was only appropriate, to marry Dan at Wild Basin Lodge, high up in the Rocky Mountains… And of course Corrie was a bridesmaid! 🙂
It snowed and snowed on Friday. At times I was worried of how we would get to the wedding in Allenspark, CO on Sunday. I never doubt my husband’s driving skills, not for a second there! But hearing how parts of I-25 were closed because of horrible accidents was a little crazy.
Sunday the 21st was the day when I was going to miss the Wedding preview event that I was dying to attend. Excuses? Why, yes! I was trembling from fear and my knees kept on softening every step of they way! With my husband’s strong support and love, we drove away to the mountains to document a wedding. The roads were clear, sun was very friendly to us. But the wind kept on going so hard, it almost took my make up right out of my face. At one point, I thought I would join the bridal party to redo my facial mural. Great, I thought to myself. Soft knees, eyes popping wide open from fear and smudged make-up was all I needed to boost my confidence.
The Wild Basin Lodge was amazing! Bride and groom, stunning! The family couldn’t be any nicer to us, strangers, with black, heavy and bulky equipment! As the day kept on unraveling itself and the wedding going beautifully in harmony with every little tune of the nature, I thanked God for the opportunity to document such a stunning, lively, dazzling, once-in-a-lifetime event in the lives of two beautiful individuals. Soft knees were the thing of the past!
I haven’t had a chance to look at all the pictures yet, but wanted to give you a quick teaser before I reveal the whole shebang from one of the most beautiful weddings!
